Job Description
Blink, a rapidly growing ISP, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Network Engineer to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting Blink’s network infrastructure, supporting our fiber and microwave internet services. Key Responsibilities:
Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot network problems to ensure optimal service delivery.
Support Senior Engineers: Assist senior network engineers in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s fiber and microwave networks.
Network Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, patch management, and configuration of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers and internal teams for network-related issues, ensuring quick resolution and minimal downtime.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configuration settings, and logs.
Network Security: Assist in monitoring network security, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing appropriate security measures.
Network Expansion: Support the installation and configuration of network hardware and software as the network expands, particularly in areas with new fiber or AirFiber installations.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
Sales Engagment: Engage with potential customers to understand their technical and business requirements, and translate them into suitable solutions.
Learning and Development: Stay updated on the latest networking technologies and best practices, continually improving your skill set.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in network engineering or IT support (internships or entry-level positions are a plus).
Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols.
Certifications: CCNA or similar networking certification is highly desirable.
Skills:Hands-on experience with networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls).
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities (e.g., Wireshark, Nagios).
Basic knowledge of network security principles.
Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work well under pressure.
Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic.
Team Player: Willingness to learn and work as part of a technical team.
Customer Service Mindset: Able to interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with ISPs or telecommunications companies.
Familiarity with fiber optic and microwave networking technologies.
Knowledge of network management software (e.g., NetFlow, SNMP).
